It really brought something new to the alien romance genre. In the chill of the cell, her nipples had puckered to hard points. Dak falling in love with Omra was beautiful, it was as though he knew the right way to be and she just kind of gave him the courage to be that way – to do the right thing against the majority. The author xara not portray this as erotic, which I appreciated; rather, Dak has been told not only that he can legally flog a woman and stick fingers in her, but that he must.
