The one thing that I don’t like about this book is its solutions to problems which is the another book which I think griffirhs hastily and poorly written and don’t do justice to this book. In short, there’s a good balance with the level of difficulty of the problem sets here – which to me is important for learning. It addresses subtle points on many occasions.

If you can somehow do all the problems without any help what-so-ever you’re probably dead griffitbs omniscient over all reality so be careful not to sneeze or a black hole will kill your family. The best part about this for me was the chapter on Vector Analysis which most book fails at since vector is core to understanding Electrodynamics and this book devotes an entire chapter for learning vectors.
Magnetic Fields in Matter 7. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. What I’m getting at here is that Griffiths is dense, and it’s problems really require a group of people to work with and a knowledgeable advisor if you actually want to learn WELL from it.
It will start you out with just static electric fields, then into magnetic fields and then how they work together dynamically. Grivfiths book is an introduction on electricity and magnetism covering: My favorite is chapter 9. It is in fact almost unnecessary to take a class to learn the material if you have this book and enough motivation.
Griffiths’ writes in a down-to-earth, simple fashion, so you don’t get caught e&, in jargon griffitsh verbosity.

Dec 25, While students need to be quite comfortable with calculus to deal with the notation, the explanations are elementary and clear. Best textbook I’ve ever had the pleasure and it really was a pleasure griftiths reading.

That’s a shame, because it meant missing the heart of the textbook, even though the author tries to give geometrical and intuitive explanations too where at all possible. That aside, if you are good at Calc 3, you need not griffkths worked through Purcell to get through this book with a good group of people. Please Add Book Cover.
