These 3 locations in Victoria: Beyond explaining the syntax and semantics of Perl’s inbuilt object-oriented features, Object Oriented Perl explains how to apply those features in a wide range of programming techniques. The quality of typesetting, copy editing, and layout is not good enoughcertainly not as good as this book deserves. The book starts with a gentle introduction to objectt oriented programming orifnted general, and quickly progresses to objects in Perl, where you learn that any Perl datatype can be used as an object.

These are books that you can buy when you’re just starting out in a field, and they even though you pull them off the shelf every week for years and years they never seem to run dry. It’s probably the most entertaining and readable technical book I’ve ever come across. Perl is not natively OO, and getting used to it can be really heinous. I’d tell you when it was for me but I can’t actually remember any funny programming books.
