These are books that you can buy when you’re just starting out in a field, and they even though you pull them off the shelf every week for years and years they never seem to run dry. It’s probably the most entertaining and readable technical book I’ve ever come across. Perl is not natively OO, and getting used to it can be really heinous. I’d tell you when it was for me but I can’t actually remember any funny programming books.
